The Experience: We had driven by Westenfield Park on Mopac countless times but never stopped before. We were glad we finally stopped one day to swim at the pool and visit this little park. The playground had one large playscape with a bridge connecting two sections, located in the sun. The four regular swings and two baby swings were all completely in the shade. There was a picnic table in the shade by the playscape. Nearby were the basketball courts, tennis courts, and a restroom. Although no one was using the courts on the weekday afternoon when we visited, we have frequently seen this popular court in use. This park appears to be a favorite with folks in the nice neighborhood surrounding it. Starting across the street from the park is the Johnson Creek Greenbelt, which has a hike and bike trail.
Before you go: Bring sunscreen, consider bringing a picnic, considering bringing swimsuits to cool off in the pool.

How to go cheaper: Not possible.

Birthday Parties: Do it yourself.

Accessibility: The main trail leading through the park is paved. One of the regular swings can be approached on a rubber surface; the rest necessitate walking over a pebble surface.
