The Experience: Without taking any kind of scientific poll, I would bet that most Austinites would say that Amy's has the best ice cream in town. With delicious flavors and fresh ingredients, an awesome cow décor, photo booths, and hilarious scoopers you can't go wrong with a trip to Amy's. Every flavor of ice cream we have tried has been rich and delicious. They always have Sweet Cream, Just Vanilla, Mexican Vanilla, Coffee, White Chocolate, Belgian Chocolate, and Coffee. On a trip in early June, they also featured Texas Dirt Cake, Cappuccino, Grasshopper, Dreamsicle, Triple Mex, Brandy Alexander, and Sin-Oh-Man. These were changed by late June to Honey Vanilla, Mango Cheesecake, Italian Cream Cake, White Lightning, Butter Brick, Double-Chocolate Macademia Nut, and Bourbon Chocolate Walnut. They will crush in candies, nuts, berries, or cookies upon request. The cool Austin atmosphere is also a plus, and will keep you entertained just looking around while you eat. Between the ice cream and the cold air conditioning, Amy's can cool off even the hottest, sweatiest, crankiest family with ease. At the Amy's location we frequent, there is a child-sized table and a little block for the kids to stand on and reach the counter. There is often a long line, but it moves pretty quickly. The scoopers seem to be patient with the kids and will help them choose flavors and combinations they will like. There are patios in several locations and a playscape at the Burnet Road location.
