Location: Southeast, In/Outdoor: Outdoor Activity level: Varies Features: Mabel Davis Municipal Pool is a large pool in Mabel Davis District Park. The pool does not have a wading pool, but does have a shallow end that toddlers can stand up in, divided from the deeper areas of the pool by a rope. There are lap lanes on one side of the pool and a diving board at the far end. Cost for a family of four: $8 ($3 adults, $1 kids) Best for ages: all | ![]() |
The Experience: We were surprised at how few people were using this pool on a Thursday afternoon from 6 pm – 7 pm. The cashier said that it does get busier on the weekends, but stays uncrowded during the week. The few people in the pool were mostly ethnically diverse families. There were also a few lap swimmers and older kids who had come by themselves. Although a wading pool would have been a nice addition, the lack of people in the pool made it possible to play with our kids more, which made up for it.
Before you go: Put on sunscreen, and bring some water toys if desired. A water fountain and changing rooms/restrooms are available. How to go cheaper: Not possible.
Birthday Parties: Do it yourself (the table would need to be set up elsewhere, like in the park).
Accessibility: Coming soon.
