The Experience: EZ's is a kid-friendly restaurant that appeals to grownups too. We saw the proof of that on a weekday lunch, when diners included police officers, young professionals, families, and women lunching with friends and children. The restaurant was very clean, something that EZ's prides itself on. The restaurant was all one big room, which made it have a light, airy feel. The tables, chairs, and booths were brightly colored, and there were large corner booths in addition to the standard-sized booths. There was a bookshelf with kids' books on it, which many kids took advantage of (the restaurant also has a summer reading program kids can join). The kids' menu features a pizza, cheeseburger, grilled cheese sandwich, or chicken tenders, and comes with one side item, such as french fries or steamed vegetables, and a drink. The chicken tenders came with gravy as well. We didn't actually love the pizzas we ordered, which seemed bland and lacking in flavor, although the crust was tender and chewy. We did, however, love the cheeseburger we tried on a subsequent visit. It was a big, old-fashioned cheeseburger with a good flavor. The Shanghai Asian Salad was also very good, with a good Oriental dressing, lots of chicken, and generous portions. The milkshakes are made with Blue Bell ice cream; the chocolate shake we tried was delicious. The shakes are topped with whipped cream and a cherry and are yummy. The texture is thin enough to drink with a straw as a meal accompaniment. The drink station included a squirter to add vanilla or cherry flavor to your soda. The restaurant became quite loud as the lunch crowd filed in, and the line became long; we were glad we had arrived shortly after 11:00 to avoid a wait.
