The Experience: The buffet is all you can eat, and includes a large variety of frequently refreshed pizza, pasta, a good salad bar, and dessert pizza and brownies. Soft drinks or slushes are included with the buffet. You have to pay for a buffet to get in, whether you plan to eat or not, unless you are there for a reserved birthday party, and then it is your choice whether to pay to get the buffet or not eat. The front dining room is peaceful and quiet if you go on weekdays or early in the day on weekends. The TV room, on the other hand, is a loud place to eat due to three different television channels going on at once, although it can be fun to turn your speaker to the one you want to hear the most. The arcade room is large, loud, and exciting. The game selection is extensive, including a horse racing game and a bang the gopher game in which the winner gets a stuffed animal. The carousel and bumper cars are very fun, full-sized features located within the arcade area. They are not always monitored by an attendant, so you may have to wait until the one you want is running. The arcade games allow you to earn points to exhange for prizes. However, you need a lot of tickets before you can get most of the prizes.
Before you go: Make sure everyone is hungry, since you will have to pay for the buffet anyway. Grab your wallet, and any old game cards you have because they may still have points left on them. Gattitown gets very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights; you may find yourself waiting in a long line for pizza. Saturday mornings and early afternoons are not usually crowded and can be a fairly calm experience. How to go cheaper: Children often get free passes with their report cards at school, to get in free with an adult admission for a limited period of time. Also, on Monday moms eat free with a purchase of a kid's buffet, and on Wednesday, kids eat fee with the purchase of an adult buffet. There are also coupons for buffets and take-out that arrive on a flyer in your mailbox.
Birthday Parties: The parties here are fast and furious, with an hour and a half time slot allotted, but they are a favorite with kids. Your guests can always stay and play after the party is technically over. The price for the basic party (silver package) is $9.99 per child, with a minimum of 8 guests. It includes the party room, a free bumper car or carousel ride, a T-shirt for the birthday child, the pizza/salad/pasta buffet with drinks, party invitations, thank you cards, cake plates, balloons, a party host, and a game play card with $10 for the birthday child and $6 for guests. We enjoyed our recent party there a lot. When most of the kids had arrived, the hostess brought two pizzas for them to eat, although they were also welcome to visit the buffet at any time. There were balloons tied on all the chairs and lollipops laid out on the tables. After the kids ate, we blew out the candles and had cake, followed immediately by present unwrapping. The kids were then given their $6 game cards and were free to go play.
