The Experience: The atmosphere at BookPeople is quiet, peaceful, and cerebral, a nice place to escape for a few hours. There are three floors worth of books to choose from, plus funny gifts and toys, Eastern gifts, and unique items not found elsewhere. The large selection makes it easy to find what you are looking for. The bookshelves have staff recommendation cards for certain books, which describe the book and what the staff member feels makes it a good book to read. We have found many good books and series in this manner. The staff is also very helpful in making book recommendations and helping to find books. The kids' selection covers about 1/3 of the second floor and includes many picture books and youth chapter books. There are story steps for kids to sit on and read in the kids' section , with a crawl space underneath. The store holds a story time for kids on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am and Saturdays at 11:30 am.
